This is a gorgeous 19th Century Chinese Rice or Water bucket. Made from solid elm it has all the right characteristics you want in an old rustic decorative yet functional item.
Square nails, dovetail joints, countless fixes with additional wood to replace the timeworn edge to the top corner section. The handle is bent with a small bevel beneath the bend where it would have been placed on a longer stick to be carried.

It measures 57cm overall height to the top of the handle and 36cm x 36 cm wide with the bucket section being 32cm tall.
So useful in so many places in the house. Next to the log fire with kindling & firelighters. In the bathroom with spare loo rolls or maybe in the guest bedroom as a handy bin. You decide
