This is a beautiful oak corner display cabinet with shelves to the top section & a cupboard in the bottom section. Made from solid Oak and is from furniture maker Remploy who were very popular during the 70s and 80s.

Originally, the top section had a lead plated glass door but I felt it was a little ugly and not in keeping with its new colour, so I chose to remove the door and leave the shelves exposed. They have a lovely wear to them which helps with the overall affect.

Overall it has been painted in Annie Sloan Athenian Black and given a coat of Poly varnish between coats to protect the paint. I then used a gold gilding wax to highlight around the hinges and handle to the lower section to add some drama which I think works really well.

Measurements

71cm Wide x 42cm Deep x 172cm High
The bottom section only is 72cm High
