Vintage Knee Hole Desk

A vintage knee hole desk in a classic Georgian style that I have hand painted with black milk paint and then distressed to give it a really beautiful gothic style look.

If you're familiar with my style of painting you will know that I really love the worn look that old aged furniture has. It not only gives the furniture a really unique look but also transforms the atmosphere of a room.

I removed the original leather writing area from the top as it was an awful bright green with gold edging that really didn't suit the new black finish. I used a very dark brown with a reddish tint piece of leather and then aged it slightly to fit in with the rest of the desk style.

The desk itself has 3 drawers either side of the knee hole opening and one long draw at the top. But the really lovely feature is the single cupboard in the middle that has its original lock & key to store away your valuables & important paper documents.

The brass, swan neck drop handles are beautiful aged quality and really suit this style of desk.

The desk is quite heavy and solid so oozes with quality and sitting on 4 bracket feet make it a real eye catcher. 

Perfect size for a small bay window or the corner of a bedroom. Could also look fab in the hallway. Imagine chucking your keys into the top drawer when you come home instead of leaving them on the kitchen worktop only to wonder where you left them before leaving the house again.

Please note that all our painted & restored furniture is of a certain age and over the years has picked up knocks and scrapes which add to each piece's uniqueness. The colouring and ageing techniques we use during the restoration process also add to the individual style.
