Vintage Slate Chalk Board (Double Sided)

A wonderful little double sided vintage slate board with wooden frame. On one side there is a makers stamp etched into the frame showing the name Dixon of Bangor Wales and the name Crown Slate with an emblem of a crown. (see photos)

These double sided slate boards were used in British schools in the 19th and early 20th century. Today they are a perfect collectable item but also very functional and would be ideal for writing a small menu or notice for a shop counter perhaps.
